Talent and Innovation Shine at the SBP Innova 2025 Hackathon

The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) successfully concluded the SBP Innova 2025 Hackathon, a four-week initiative designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation among its employees.

The closing ceremony highlighted the talent and commitment of the institutional team, positioning the SBP as a benchmark for innovation within the public sector. The hackathon reaffirmed that innovation is not a distant aspiration, but a reality we build together every day.

During the event, the winning team was recognized, while the dedication and contributions of all participating teams were celebrated. With passion and commitment, they presented concrete solutions to the institution’s real challenges.

The first-place award went to Hack4MEYF, comprised of Miriam Ortega, Evelyn Rivera, Yaracelis Aponte, and Franklin Annel González. The second-place award was presented to the 360 Admin Team, formed by Cecilia Mojica, Yania Peñaloza, Verónica Linares, Ricardo Meneses, and Elda Franco. The third-place award went to Contagion.io – Mapping Banking Interconnections, represented by Patricio Mosquera.

This third edition of the Hackathon also welcomed the participation of organizations such as the City of Knowledge, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), and the Instituto Técnico Superior Especializado (ITSE), who had the opportunity to witness how innovative ideas are born and developed within the SBP.

Year after year, the SBP Hackathon showcases the creativity, problem-solving capacity, and transformative spirit of its people, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to continuous learning and innovation.
