SBP Strengthens the Quality of Information in Banking Compliance

Wednesday, 18 March 2026

The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) held a training session titled “Compliance Reporting Update: New Structures and Data Quality Challenges in AML/CFT/CPF,” exclusively for the banking sector.

The session aimed to guide institutions on updates to compliance reporting structures (RE01, PB01, and PB02), with a view to standardizing information submissions, strengthening data quality, and enhancing supervisory processes. These actions contribute to mitigating risks associated with money laundering, terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (AML/CFT/CPF).

The event brought together 85 representatives from banking institutions, who received both technical and practical guidance on the new requirements, as well as tools to address challenges in managing and reporting compliance information.

The session was led by Yodalys Gómez, SBP Coordinator for Prevention and Data Analysis, who shared her expertise and provided key guidance to support adaptation to the new structures and regulatory requirements.

Through initiatives such as this, the SBP continues to strengthen the financial system by promoting continuous improvement, transparency, and high-quality information as fundamental pillars of effective supervision.
