The Board of Directors of the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) issued Rule 8-2025 dated August 5, 2025, “Whereby Articles 39, 41, and 42 of Rule No. 4-2013 on credit risk management and administration inherent in loan portfolios and off-balance sheet operations are amended.”
Under this Rule, Articles 39, 41, and 42 of Rule No. 4-2013 were amended. Specifically, subsection 16 was added to Article 39; subparagraph (e) was added to Article 41; and subsection 16 was added to the table set forth in Article 42 of said regulation, in order to recognize the guarantees granted by the Panama Guarantee Fund as a credit risk mitigant.
This Rule shall become effective upon its promulgation in the Official Gazette.
