The Superintendent of Banks, Milton Ayón Wong, participated in the 2025 Annual Meetings of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA), held from October 21 to 24 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
The event, which included the CXVI Board of Directors Meeting, the ASBA-BCBS-FSI Top-level Meeting, and the XXVIII Annual Assembly, promoted the exchange of perspectives on policies related to current and emerging challenges facing the regional and global financial system.
Key topics discussed included macro-financial developments in Latin America and the Caribbean, cross-border cooperation, progress in payment systems (including cryptoassets, stablecoins, and CBDCs), bank insolvency frameworks, and supervisory effectiveness.
The participation of the Superintendency of Banks underscores its commitment to the adoption of the best international practices in financial regulation and supervision, as well as to strengthening regional technical cooperation.
Superintendent Ayón was accompanied by Kathy de Guardia, Director of International Affairs and Projects.
