SBP organized the Seventh Supervisory College of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa

Friday, 14 November 2025

The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) held the Seventh Supervisory College of Grupo Financiero Ficohsa, for which it serves as home supervisor, with the purpose of advancing supervisory work through the exchange of information and experiences.

As the home supervisor, the SBP is responsible for coordinating this Supervisory College, which seeks to strengthen cooperation and enhance the effectiveness of supervision for banks operating across multiple jurisdictions.

This forum provided regulators with a comprehensive and coordinated view of the financial conglomerate, its key challenges, and its strategic responses to the current economic environment. It also strengthened technical dialogue, promoted the exchange of experiences, and reinforced regional cooperation in financial supervision—key elements for ensuring a solid and harmonized regulatory framework in the region.

During the working sessions, participants discussed topics of mutual interest related to the economic environment, the performance of the conglomerate, and relevant aspects of risk management, with the objective of continuing to promote sound practices and strengthening coordination among supervisors.

Regulators and financial supervisors from Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama took part in this Supervisory College, along with members of the Board of Directors and senior management of both local and foreign entities that make up Grupo Financiero Ficohsa.

The successful completion of this meeting reaffirms the SBP’s commitment to effective supervision, transparency, and regional cooperation—fundamental pillars for maintaining the stability and soundness of the Panamanian and international financial system.
