SBP participated in the “IV Convention on International Regulations”

The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) participated in the “IV Convention on International Regulations” held by the Instituto Guatemalteco de Contadores Públicos y Auditores (IGPA – Guatemalan Institute of Public Accountants and Auditors).

Javier Motta, Director of Financial Studies of the SBP, representing this institution, participated in the conference “Regulations applicable to the regulated financial sector, experiences of other countries,” where he shared relevant aspects of the International Banking Center (IBC) of Panama, with counterparts from Mexico and El Salvador, who also shared their experiences.

During his presentation, Motta stressed that “the financial fundamentals of the Panamanian banking system have remained stable, with adequate solvency and liquidity levels.”

Other relevant topics were presented at this convention, such as: the challenges and opportunities of the code of ethics in the exercise of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) profession, quality management of financial statements auditing, IFRS application and tax legislation, among others.
