The Technical Assistance on the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP), organized by the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) in collaboration with the IMF Regional Technical Assistance Center for Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic (CAPTAC-DR), was successfully carried out.
The program took place from August 18 to 22, 2025, and denoted an important milestone in the technical and strategic strengthening of 29 staff members of this regulatory and supervisory authority.
Participants received top-level specialized training delivered by two internationally recognized experts in the field: Raúl Real, Resident Advisor in Financial Supervision and Regulation at CAPTAC-DR, and Jorge Mogrovejo, Deputy Superintendent of Banking and Microfinance of the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance, and Pension Fund Administrators (AFP) of Peru, and international consultant responsible for the technical assistance.
This technical assistance not only reinforces SBP’s commitment to regulatory excellence but also promotes the adoption of robust frameworks for prudent capital and risk management in supervised entities.
