Superintendent of Banks Milton Ayón Wong met with United States Ambassador to Panama, Kevin Marino Cabrera, who was accompanied by Melanie Rose Carter, Deputy Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy.
During the meeting, held at the SBP headquarters, both parties discussed matters of mutual interest, highlighting the strategic role the United States as Panama's main trading partner.
The exchange underscored the strength of the Panama’s banking system, the importance of cooperation and technical assistance between government entities and the institution, as well as the key role of correspondent banking relationships in strengthening the international financial system.
"Institutional dialogue and international cooperation are fundamental pillars for ensuring the transparency and soundness of the financial system," noted Superintendent Ayón during the conversation.
The Superintendent was accompanied during the meeting by the General Secretary Kuldip Singh and the Director of International Affairs and Projects Kathy de Guardia.
The visit reflects the shared interest in further deepening the collaborative ties between Panama and the United States, benefiting the stability and development of the financial sector.
