In observance of National Financial Education Day, the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP), through its free financial education program Tu Balboa Con Sentido (TBCS), held the workshop “Writing My Financial Story” at the National Assembly, with the support of Honorable Member of Parliament Eduardo Gaitán.
The workshop was aimed at secondary school and university students and sought to strengthen their knowledge of responsible money management, saving, and financial planning. Through learning and reflection activities, participants explored practical tools to support informed financial decision-making.
The event brought together students from José Dolores Moscote High School, Instituto Rubiano, and Instituto Dr. Alfredo Cantón, as well as university students from Universidad Santa María La Antigua (USMA), Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP), and Universidad Interamericana de Panamá (UIP). Young people from San Miguelito also participated, seeking to strengthen their skills in personal financial management.
The workshop addressed the importance of developing sound financial habits, setting financial goals, and understanding how everyday decisions can affect an individual’s present and future financial well-being.
The event forms part of the initiatives promoted by Tu Balboa Con Sentido to expand access to financial education across different segments of the population and help prepare citizens to navigate the economic challenges of everyday life. It also highlights the value of partnerships between institutions and community stakeholders in fostering a culture of financial responsibility, planning, and sustainable development among younger generations.
