In an emotional recognition ceremony, the Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP), in partnership with Infoplazas AIP, celebrated the commitment and dedication of community facilitators who, through financial education, are transforming lives across the country.
The event was opened by Kathy de Guardia, Director of International Affairs and Projects at the SBP, who highlighted the fundamental role these leaders play as agents of change within the framework of the National Financial Education Strategy (ENEF).
"You have empowered your communities with tools to make better financial decisions. Your work is leaving a lasting mark," said De Guardia, acknowledging the facilitators’ ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical, useful, and accessible knowledge.
The session also reaffirmed that the free virtual financial education course, developed by the SBP and Infoplazas AIP, remains available at all Infoplazas nationwide. This initiative seeks to close knowledge gaps, promote inclusion, and ensure that more Panamanians have access to key information for their financial well-being.
The joint effort between both institutions demonstrates that when there is calling, empathy, and passion for service, there are no geographical or technological barriers to accessing knowledge. Facilitators are the bridge that connects financial education with the realities of each community.
"Thanks to you, financial education is no longer a privilege, but a right within everyone’s reach. You have planted a seed that will continue to grow and multiply in every corner of the country," emphasized De Guardia.
Throughout the event, participants shared inspiring testimonies, renewed their commitment to education as a driver of equity and progress, and reaffirmed that an informed citizenry is key to building a more resilient Panama with greater opportunities.
The SBP extends its heartfelt gratitude to the facilitators for their invaluable contribution and reiterates its commitment to fostering a strong, inclusive, and sustainable financial culture.
