The Superintendency of Banks of Panama (SBP) conducted a specialized workshop with its technical team, focused on strengthening banking regulation through cutting-edge digital tools.
The session addressed key issues shaping the future of the financial system: cybersecurity and digital infrastructure resilience, secure enablement of banking core systems through VMware and Huawei DCS migration, financial innovation and inclusive digital services, mobile money infrastructure and financial inclusion, as well as strategic alignment and action planning.
The objective was to equip SBP teams with expertise in new data protection technologies applied to critical infrastructures, along with strategies to modernize legacy systems without compromising regulatory compliance or consumer security.
Through these initiatives, the SBP reinforces its commitment to responsible innovation, fostering a safer, more inclusive, and resilient financial environment, in line with international best practices and anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.
